FIELD TRIP DATA
- After looking at all the data I have decided on the following slight modifications.
- Use your group's data only. If you have percentage cover for all organisms (green and brown algae, Balanus, Megabalanus, Chthalamus, oysters (Crassostrea
sp.) etc. you can have a graph showing percentage cover per
zone.
- From the picture above you can tell that there were two
species of Balanus, though we did not take this into account you can use the above picture and make a note of it in your write up.
- Use the instructions in your handout to calculate the Simpson's index for your data.
- You should have six values for the Simpson's index, present these data in tabular form or in a graph.
- Follow the rest of the instructions in your handout.
- See me if you have questions. Below are data for 3 groups. If I have the wrong data for your group please let me know.
