Parasitology: Study of the most common
mode of life on earth.*

I study parasites of wild animals. My current research is focused on the cultivation of digenetic trematodes in the laboratory as a way to study the basic biology of these organisms in controlled conditions.  Research questions of interest include:

What impact do parasites have on the health and reproductive success of wild animals?
How do parasites modify the behavior of their hosts?
How are parasites transmitted among their wild animal hosts?
Why are some animals more susceptible to parasite infection than others?
